___

This work is part of Pien’s Spectral Drawings series, a body of work imbued with an otherworldly quality. A cast of ghost-like characters floats across the gallery wall, seemingly appearing and disappearing like wisps of smoke upon a dark landscape. Many of Pien’s work make reference to the mythologies of both Asia and the West. The artist is particularly interested in ghost stories, which explore societal fears and anxieties.
