BOOTH #V-10

Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of recent work by Quebec photographer Roberto Pellegrinuzzi at VOLTA New York from March 4-7, 2010.

Now in its 3rd edition, VOLTA NY was introduced in 2008 as a partner to the prestigious Armory Show. VOLTA NY was conceived as a tightly curated solo project fair highlighting the best of today’s cutting-edge art to complement its more established sibling. Both fairs work closely together, sharing VIP programs, panel series and shuttles. VOLTA NY is organized around a different theme every year by Director Amanda Coulson. The individual presentations require direct involvement and the presence of the artist, giving the visitor more direct access akin to a studio visit.

For VOLTA NY the artist has decided to re-create a large installation that was exhibited in the fall of 2009 at the gallery. Fougère is a twelve-foot long, three layer photograph of a fern leaf, printed on Mylar and pinned directly onto the wall. The artist deconstructs and subsequently re-constructs the image of the plant, creating a startling effect of three-dimensionality as the viewer moves in front of the piece. This museum-quality work will be the centerpiece of the gallery’s booth and will be an impressive introduction for the New York art scene to Pellegrinuzzi’s practise.
