« Cette œuvre est issue d’une série de collages de papiers sérigraphiés (2017–2023) inspirée des motifs traditionnels de la courtepointe. Réalisée avec un groupe de femmes artistes, elle rassemble savoir-faire, expériences et récits dans une forme d’ouvrage collectif. Par l’assemblage de motifs et de références textiles, l’œuvre révèle une lucidité partagée face aux structures de pouvoir patriarcales et à leurs mécanismes de prédation qui fragilisent les richesses communes. La courtepointe devient un espace d’accueil et de solidarité où des voix longtemps murmurées s’unissent en une parole collective impossible à réduire au silence. » - DP
Dominique Pétrin est une artiste multidisciplinaire iconoclaste dont la pratique s'est développée principalement à travers le médium de la sérigraphie. Elle a été membre du légendaire groupe de rock pétrochimique Les Georges Leningrad (2000-2007) et a également collaboré avec des artistes de renom tels que Sophie Calle, Pil et Galia Kollectiv, ainsi qu’avec les chorégraphes Antonija Livingstone, Stephen Thompson, Andrew Tay et Jennifer Lacey dans les performances Culture, Administration & Trembling et Make Banana Cry.
Elle a notamment réalisé une chambre dans le Walled Off Hotel (2017) de Banksy en Palestine, ainsi qu’une œuvre permanente dans la station de métro Place-des-Arts à Montréal. Elle a été finaliste pour le prestigieux Prix Sobey en 2014, et été récipiendaire en 2023 du Prix Monique-et-Léo-Parizeau pour son innovation dans le domaine de l’estampe.

" This work is part of a series of collages made from screen-printed papers (2017–2023), inspired by traditional quilt patterns. Created with a group of women artists, it brings together skills, experiences, and stories in the form of a collaborative work. Through the assembly of motifs and textile references, the work reveals a shared lucidity toward patriarchal power structures and their predatory mechanisms that erode what we hols in common. The quilt becomes a space of care and solidarity where voices long kept to whispers come together in a collective expression that cannot be silenced." -DP
Dominique Pétrin is an iconoclastic multidisciplinary artist whose practice has developed primarily through the medium of screen printing. She was a member of the legendary petrochemical rock group Les Georges Leningrad (2000-2007) and has collaborated with renowned artists such as Sophie Calle and Pil and Galia Kollectiv, as well as with choreographers Antonija Livingstone, Stephen Thompson, Andrew Tay, and Jennifer Lacey in the performances Culture, Administration & Trembling and Make Banana Cry.
She created a room at Banksy's Walled Off Hotel (2017) in Palestine and produced a permanent artwork at Place-des-Arts metro station in Montréal. She was a finalist for the Sobey Art Award in 2014 and received the Monique-et-Léo-Parizeau Prize in 2023 for innovation in printmaking.
