________

In "Cabbage Flower #1", Chih-Chien Wang isolates an ordinary subject—a cabbage in bloom—to reveal its formal and symbolic complexity. Through careful attention to light, texture, and framing, the artist transforms this humble motif into an almost sculptural presence.

The image oscillates between still life and botanical study, while evoking cycles of growth, transformation, and decay. The restrained and rigorous photographic approach situates the work within a meditation on time and observation, where sustained looking becomes an act of revelation.

Characteristic of Wang’s practice, the work reflects a commitment to simple, repeated gestures, using photography to slow perception and reconsider the everyday as a site of contemplation.
