___________
"Bindelarven/Schutzobjekte (Bound Larvae/Protective Objects)" are bound after the model ofdolls that the women in the artist's family once made in Kazakhstan to say goodbye to winter and welcome spring. Eitner has adopted the ritual and repurposed it to get rid of unwanted creatures. The work is a humorous yet critical engagement with magical thinking, particularly in post-Soviet culture.
