» - DH

"The small sculptures are made from a number of materials, including wood, paperboard, expanding foam, fabric and plaster. There is no plan…they are invented from scratch. They have a figural relationship to the paintings. While the paintings refer to figures in their scale and subject matter, the paintings do not include actual bodies. The sculptures represent this missing element, using a similar combination of abstract and representational forms as the paintings. I ask the question: if the paintings are about the bodies that stand in front of them, then what kind of bodies might be standing in front of the paintings?" - DH
