» - MD

The Dance of Death—The Remaining Fragments, The Lost Fragments, After the Peasant was created in Basel in 2021. As its title suggests, it is composed by the superposition of the nineteen existing fragments of the Dance of Death of the Great-Basel, to which I added an empty—or open?—image, a layer of neutral gray: the incarnation of what was lost. The superimposition of these twenty images evokes the degradation and the advanced disappearance of this fresco which originally measured more than 60 meters in length, and that, to come, of all things.
